Sound can be weaponized in three ways: Infrasound Oscillations, Psychoacoustics & Shock Waves.

As “sound weapons”, Nazi experiments on shock waves focused from explosions were inefficiently deficient.

Human ears can generally hear between 20 Hz & 20,000 Hz. Higher sounds are ultrasonics while the low end is infrasound. Just because we can’t hear it, doesn’t mean its not there, as what cannot be heard thru our ears can still resonate the body & bones.

Infrasound is potent and omnipresent. Tesla often mentioned that his compact infrasonic impulsars when properly tuned could create oscillations of incredible destructiveness. NASA in researching rocket vibration effects on astronauts discovered that ≈19Hz creates visual disturbances caused by the eyeball vibrating. This may relate to seeing “ghosts.” Everyday machinery produces sub-audible sound that may cause illness in those around it. Such unexplained illness is what tipped off infrasound experimenter – “Dr. Gavreau” (veracity unconfirmed).

Gavreau’s early tests led to injuries & death among his team. Internal organs were violently vibrated to ill effect. The devices were unexpectantly powerful for their size.

The design of his weapons were like foghorns & police whistles – flat circular resonant cavities with a side output duct. The whistle’s resonant pitch can be found with the formula - 51/diameter (in meters?). Increasing depth increases amplitude. Devices were later incased in concrete cubes and their openings were surrounded with pipes and horns to attempt to direct the energy. The device was powered with compressed air. If a combustion engine’s explosion-produced shock waves are used the possible power & level can reach megawatt level.

Infrasound does not lose its intensity as its travels from its source and so cannot be located without special appliances as calculations are complicated involving power, size, frequency, waveform, & humidity.

To protect against infrasound it must first be detected. Gavreau made several designs relying on flame (which was fickle), mechanical barometers (which were frail), electrolytics (expensive), & one that was both simple and reliable based upon the work of John Logie Baird. A mirror was fastened to a tympani drum skin that infrasound would make move, deflecting a light beam reflection from the mirror, which a photocell would convert to a simple electrical signal of detection.

Detection is not protection. Infrasound cannot be directed away from its source and so is dangerous to any operator. Gavreau filed patents to make infrasonic armor. Baffles that passively “tune up” the sound to be harmless need to be enormous. Aggressive wave-phase nullification is difficult. The solution is remote or robotic control.

The frequency found to be most destructive is the Schumann resonance. It is generated in the space between the earth and the ionosphere by the Sun’s energy and sferics. The resonances occur at several frequencies in the ELF band and temperature may vary them. The strongest resonance is 7.8 and can be considered the beat of Earth. The Navy uses this frequency to communicate with submarines.

Authorities argue that infrasound has failed to prove its disabilitating effects in tests and only realistic result would be permanent hearing damage to those nearby. Tests will tell.

One way to produce infra & ultra sounds is via phasing. The police utilized Squawk Box uses 16,000 Hz & 16,002 Hz to produce tones of 2 Hz and 32,000 Hz and the resulting psychoacoustic effect is that crowds sudden discomfort leads to dispersal, or as US Patent 6,017,302 (2000) “Subliminal Acoustic Manipulation of Nervous Systems” describes itself – “non-lethal weapon to cause disorientation and drowsiness in law enforcement standoff situations.” Such devices and schematics are also available online.

Musicians Monte Cazazza & Throbbing Gristle used infrasound until the air shimmered and clothes rippled. Legend has it they produced spontaneous defecation and orgasm at concerts. They also used ultrasonics to make dog-owning neighbors move.

Infrasonics may have constructive use as well. There is testimony in ancient writings that Tibetans, Egyptians, & the Mesoamericans all used sound in moving massive stone blocks. Henry Kjellson writes about a Swedish doctor named Jarl who witnessed a Tibetan orchestra (detailing its instruments and positions) move stone blocks hundreds of meters to a cave high in a cliff. An Austrian name Linauer saw two instruments, a 3.5m gong with a pure gold center, ringed iron, then brass, & a oval bowl 2m long and 1m wide with strings stretched across it. When the gong was struck, the strings vibrated, and coupled with screens, could make stone blocks lose weight. He was told such devices could even disintergrate matter. The Mayan sites of Chichén Itzá, Tulum, & Palenque have many amazing sound effects. Researcher Don Robins found that British megaliths seem to deliberately produce ultrasonic pulses at dawn and howls on equinoxes and one circle that shielded its interior from any ultrasound whatsoever.

If those distant places and times are unconvincing, look into 1,100 ton Coral Castle south of Miami, Florida. Built by Edward Leedskalnin in the 1920s-1940s, by himself and without construction machines or money, he raised blocks over 58 tons. Just how he did it, he never told, but it’s simply amazing.

Dr. Royal Rife believed he could heal people using electromagnetic fields. His followers still exists. The frequencies 20 HZ, 727 HZ, 787 HZ, 800 HZ, 880 HZ, 5000 HZ, and 10000 HZ were used for general treatment across the board, and other frequencies were then added to treat specific conditions.

The brain’s state is associated with certain frequencies.

8 – 13 Alpha – Lucidity

13 – 30 Beta – Everyday mind

30 – 60 Gamma – (hypothetical) High mental activity

These states on consciousness can be induced via brainwave entrainment. Consistent external stimuli will make the mind mimic the external frequency.

These ELF sounds cannot be realistically produced, but there are several tricks to get around that limitation. Binaural beats use stereo headphones to give each ear a different tone (under 1000Hz). If the left ear hears 500Hz and the right ear hears 505 Hz the brain will perceive an third tone that is perceived as a beat of 5Hz. You can make these tones yourself with simple software or purchase it pre-done.

Another method not requiring headphones uses an audio tone with modulated fluctuations, of pitch, volume, tone, etc., x-Hz a second.

A third method forgoes sound for light. Flashing light works the same as sound but is often easier to achieve. Nostrodomus was said to stare at the sun with closed eyes flickering his fingers before his face. Brion Gysin & William S. Burroughs’ Dreammachine works on this principle (see DIY instructions for mechanical construction & FLASH for digital equivalent). This procedure has been known to produce epileptic seizures in susceptible persons – so be CAREFUL. You are hereby warned.

The Feraliminal Lycanthropizer is another psychoacoustic device, and probably a hoax. It operation is described by Dave Woodward as “electrically generat[ing] two subsonic sinewaves -- one 3hz, the other 9hz [this low should be unproducable]. Together, these two frequencies (one acting as carrier, the other as program) generate a lower third, .56hz. In addition to these sinewave generators, the machine contains four tape loops of unduplicable lengths, each containing textual material. Two of these loops operate below the threshold of decipherability (one forward, the other backward), and two operate far beyond the opposite threshold (also one forward, the other backward). The effect of the subsonic sinewaves on the sound of these human voice recordings is one of organic ululation.” Basically according to him, people get disinhibited and fuck or get animalistically violent.
